Tel:+44(0)20 7955 6361. Email: econsoc@lse.ac.uk

Form:

  1. The title of the article, the author's name and address, and a biographical note should be typed on the flysheet which can be detached from the body of the article. The article can then be sent anonymously to editorial advisors for opinion. The biographical note should follow this model:

Jane Smith studied economics and sociology in Utrecht and philosophy in Paris. She has taught at the universities of Groningen and Budapest. She is currently Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame and a research fellow in the UNESCO Program on Ethics and Economics. She is the author of The Economy of the Gift (Carvell, 1994), and joint editor, with Sacha Korsakofsy, of Post-Capitalist Economies (University of Alaska Press, 1998). Her current research is on the ethical presuppositions of political economy.

  2. Abstract and keywords: A 100 to 125 word description of the article, labelled 'Abstract', should be submitted double-spaced on a separate sheet of paper. In addition, six key words, suitable for indexing and on-line search purposes, should be supplied.

  3. Body: All copy, including indented material and footnotes, should be double-spaced on A4 white bond paper, using one side of the sheet. Margins should be 2cm on all sides. The pages should be numbered serially. Authors are asked to submit three anonymised hard copies and one electronic copy in MSWord on cd-rom or floppy disk to the Editorial address above; these will not be returned to the author after processing by the Board. The relative status of section headings should be clearly indicated.

  4. Notes: These should be placed at the end of the text, before the bibliography. They should be indicated by numerals placed in the text. Notes are for explanation and comments, as distinct from references; they may themselves contain references to the bibliography.

  5. Bibliography: This journal uses APA referencing style.

    Reference style information: style, quickref

  6. Figures, illustrations and tables: Figures and illustrations should be supplied in separate TIF or JPG files at a high resolution (min. 300 dpi); captions should be supplied in a separate word file. Permission to use figures and illustrations must be obtained from the copyright holder prior to the submission of the paper. Acknowledgement of source and copyright should be given in the caption. Tables should be placed at the end of the main text file. Markers should be inserted in the text to indicate the approximate position.

  7. Electronic Submissions: Electronic copy should be submitted in MS Word format to econsoc@lse.ac.uk .

Spelling, punctuation and style:

Follow the Oxford English Dictionary and Fowler's Modern English Usage. Hart's Rules for Compositors and Readers, The Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors and Collins' Authors' and Printers' Dictionary are additional useful sources of reference.

Accepted Contributions:

  1. It is a condition of acceptance that the contribution has not already appeared in print (apart from quotations and illustrations, the source of which is acknowledged), and that it is not under consideration elsewhere.

  2. Proofs will be dispatched by the publishers to the contributors who should return them as soon as possible to the Editor. Misprints should be corrected. If other alterations are made at the proof stage the contributor may have to pay for them.

  3. The editors reserve the right to edit papers to conform to correct English and the style of the journal.

  4. Free article access: Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Reprints of articles published in this journal can be purchased through Rightslink® when proofs are received. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk

Authors retain a number of other rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies documents. These policies are referred to at http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authorrights.pdf for full details. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
