Instructions for Authors

ScholarOne Manuscripts
This journal uses ScholarOne Manuscripts (previously Manuscript Central) to peer review manuscript submissions. Please read the guide for ScholarOne authors before making a submission. Complete guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript to this journal are provided below.

iOpenAccess logoAims and Scope. The Journal of Immunoassay & Immunochemistry publishes original work in the areas of immunoassay, receptor assay, and ligand assay using tracers (radioisotope, enzymes, fluor,  etc.), biological markers or ligand-receptor interaction.

Submit manuscripts to the Editor:

LJII receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their ScholarOne Manuscripts website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/LJII . ScholarOne Manuscripts allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform. ScholarOne Manuscripts technical support can be accessed via http://scholarone.com/services/support/. If you have any other requests please contact the journal's editor at nelu.grinberg@boehringer-ingelheim.com.

Place figures in a separate file. Files should be prepared using MS Word, WordPerfect, or .rtf format and should be clearly labeled with the authors' names and file name. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are also required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. A copyright transfer form will be provided by the Editor upon submission of a manuscript. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.

All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively. Start with a title, authors, addresses, and email address. This should be followed by a short abstract of not more than 100 words; figures and references may not be used in the abstract. Authors should also supply six keywords and a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not to exceed 50 character spaces. The abstract should be followed by Introduction, Experimental, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, References, Tables, and Figure Captions. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text.

References should be sequentially numbered and cited in the text in numerical sequence.

Journal: Brown, P.R.; Jenkins, G. Non-target mortalities during aerial strychnine baiting of house mice. Wildl. Res. 1999, 26 (1), 117–128.

Book: Pimentel, D.; Kirby, C.; Shroff, A.A. The Relationship Between Cosmetic Standards Use. In  The Pesticide Qurestion, 3rd Edn.; Pimentel, D., Lehman, H., Eds.; New York: Chapman & Hall, 1993; Ch. 2, 85–105.

Illustrations. Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

  • 300 dpi or higher
  • Sized to fit on journal page
  • EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
  • Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files

Color Reproduction. Color art will be reproduced in color in the online publication at no additional cost to the author. Color illustrations will also be considered for print publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Please note that color reprints can only be ordered if print reproduction costs are paid. Print Rates: $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than four pages of color. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.

Tables and Figures. Tables and figures (illustrations) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, doublespaced, on a separate sheet. Original figures should be submitted; they should be clearly marked in blue pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.

Proofs. Page proofs are sent to the designated author using Taylor & Francis' EProof system. They must be carefully checked and returned within 48 hours of receipt.

Offprints/Reprints. Each corresponding author of an article will receive one complete copy of the issue in which the article appears. Reprints of an individual article are available at the time authors review page proofs. A discount is available to authors who order before print publication.
