Instructions for Authors

This journal uses ScholarOne Manuscripts (previously Manuscript Central) to peer review manuscript submissions. Please read the guide for ScholarOne authors before making a submission. Complete guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript to this journal are provided below.
Submission of Manuscripts. Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their ScholarOne Manuscripts website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/GPOL. ScholarOne Manuscripts allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform. ScholarOne Manuscripts technical support can be accessed via http://scholarone.com/services/support/. If you have any other requests please contact the journal at p.garrigues@ism.u-bordeaux1.fr. The official language of the journal is English. Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to have their paper reviewed by a colleague who speaks English fluently before the final draft of the paper is typed. The editor and publisher cannot be responsible for correcting English grammar, spelling, and idioms. Equations must be typewritten with subscripts and superscripts clearly indicated. Identify unusual symbols in the margin. Metric units should be used. Each manuscript must be accomanied by a transmittal form and a copyright form. Both forms can be downloaded from http:// www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authors/gpolauth.asp.
References. Are indicated in the text by superior numbers in the order in which they appear. The full list should be collected and typed on a seperate page at the end of the paper. Follow the format for scientific references listed in The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed., Chicago: University of Chicago Press. Examples:
1. Books: Keener, J. P. and J. Sneyd. 1998. Mathematical Physiology. New York: Springer Verlag.
2. Periodicals: Berridge, M. J., and A. Galione. 1988. Cytosolic calcium oscillators. FASEB Journal. 2:3074–3082
Tables and Figures. Tables and figures (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicro graphs, etc.) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend, and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate page. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated, and should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- sized to fit on journal page
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
Color Reproduction. Color art will be reproduced in color in the online publication at no additional cost to the author. Color illustrations will also be considered for print publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Please note that color reprints can only be ordered if print reproduction costs are paid. Print Rates: $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than four pages of color. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.
Proofs. One set of proofs is sent to the corresponding author. Proofs should be carefully checked and returned promptly.
Offprints. Each corresponding author will receive one copy of the issue in which the article appears. Reprints of individual articles are available for order at the time authors review page proofs. A discount on reprints is available to authors who order before print publication.
