Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research
Instructions for Authors

This journal uses ScholarOne Manuscripts (previously Manuscript Central) to peer review manuscript submissions. Please read the guide for ScholarOne authors before making a submission. Complete guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript to this journal are provided below.
Notes for Contributors
The Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research is especially keen to encourage publication of original contributions from all fields of educational research and thinking, thus mirroring the subject in its full breadth and diversity through articles of professional quality. While presenting international research of general interest and importance, it is the Editorial Board's intention that the Scandinavian Journal for Educational Research should also reflect the ongoing educational research in the Nordic countries where wide-reaching and advanced reforms have attracted attention and interest from around the world. The Journal offers researchers the opportunity to keep in touch with trends in educational research in Scandinavia. The Journal does not consider manuscripts for publication if they have already been reported elsewhere. Posting a manuscript on a host computer to which anyone on the Internet can gain access constitutes prior publication.
All submissions should be made online at the Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research ScholarOne Manuscripts site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.
Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non-anonymous version as "File not for review".
Tables and captions to illustrations. Tables should be uploaded on separate sheets and not included as part of the text. The captions to illustrations should be gathered together and also provided on a separate sheet. Tables and figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals. The approximate position of tables and figures should be indicated in the typescript. Captions should include keys to symbols.
References should be indicated in the typescript by giving the author's name, with the year of publication in parentheses, as detailed in the APA style guide (but please note the example below for showing a book that is not in English).See www.apa.org for further information. If several papers by the same author(s) and from the same year are cited, a, b, c, etc. should be put after the year of publication. The references should be listed in full at the end of the paper in standard APA format. For example:
