Instructions for Authors
Articles submitted to Mentoring & Tutoring: Partnership in Learning should not be under consideration by any other journal, or have been published elsewhere, and the email accompanying the submission of any manuscript should contain a clear statement to this effect.
Manuscripts: Manuscripts should be generated using Microsoft Word, double-spaced, no longer than 30 pages in length (counting References and all tables and figures), Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, 1 inch margins, and the names of authors NOT included on the actual manuscript. (Manuscripts exceeding this maximum cannot be accommodated.) Anonymous identifiers for authors should be used. The American Psychological Association (APA) style (5th edition) must be used to format the entire manuscript, both those being submitted for review and those being prepared for publication.
A separate Microsoft Word document should be prepared as a cover letter, including all authors' names and professional affiliations, with all authors' full contact information (mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, and fax number, and the title of the manuscript).
Please submit via email the three separate files (manuscript, abstracts and cover letter) to the Editor, Dr. Carol A. Mullen at: camullen@uncg.edu,
Upon receipt, manuscripts will first be screened by the editor, and manuscripts potentially appropriate for the Journal will then be sent to two to three external reviewers. The lead author will receive an e-mail notification if the manuscript is sent out for review; if not, the manuscript will not be returned to the lead author. Blind reviews will be shared with the lead author, along with one of three notifications from the editor—that the manuscript has been accepted pending minor revisions (this happens only rarely), that revisions are requested prior to a resubmission and further consideration of the manuscript, or that the manuscript is rejected.
Reviews should be no more than 2,000 words and should be sent to:

Electronic Submission. When requested by the editor, authors should send the final, revised version of their articles and reviews as an electronic copy only (no hard copy is needed) directly to the journal editor. It is essential that the e-version exactly matches the material. We prefer to receive ELECTRONIC COPIES in Microsoft Word in a PC format, but can translate from most other common word-processing programs as well as Macs. Please specify which program you have used. Do not save your files as ‘text only' or ‘read only'.
Tables and captions to illustrations. Tables must be typed out on separate sheets and not included as part of the text. The captions to illustrations should be gathered together and also typed out on a separate sheet. Tables should be numbered by Roman numerals and figures by Arabic numerals. The approximate position of tables and figures should be indicated in the manuscripts. Captions should include keys to symbols.
Figures. Please supply one set of artwork in a finished form, suitable for reproduction. Figures will not normally be redrawn by the publisher.
Citations of other work should be limited to those strictly necessary for the argument. Any quotations should be brief, and accompanied by precise references.
