Instructions for Authors

This journal uses ScholarOne Manuscripts (previously Manuscript Central) to peer review manuscript submissions. Please read the guide for ScholarOne authors before making a submission. Complete guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript to this journal are provided below.
Manuscripts should be submitted online using the Journal of Marketing Management ScholarOne Manuscripts site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.
Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non anonymous version as “Complete paper with author details”, and the anonymous version as “Main document minus author information”.
Please note that Author contact details for all authors must be entered into the online system, and be included on the full version of the paper.
Presentation
Contributions should be typed on Letter size paper with double-line spacing and normal margins. Pages (including those containing only figures and tables) should be numbered consecutively. Please do not use numbering of headings or sections, or line numbering.
Each complete paper should be presented as follows:
1. Title page: title, authors' names, affiliations and addresses and the name, address, email address, and telephone and fax numbers of the author to whom all correspondence concerning the article should be sent, plus a biography for each author (c. 150 words each) detailing the authors' background, affiliations and interests.
2. Second page: title, abstract of about 200 words, including a c. 75 word “Summary statement of contribution”, and up to six keywords for indexing purposes.
- Purpose of the Paper - What are the reasons for writing the paper or the aims of the research?
- Design/Methodology/Approach - How are the objectives achieved? What are the main methods used for the research. What is the approach to the topic and what is the theoretical or subject scope of the paper.
- Findings - What was found in the course of the work? Refer to analysis, discussion, results
- What is Original/Value of Paper - What is new in the paper? State the value of the paper and to whom.
If applicable include:
- Research/Limitations/Implications - If research is reported on in the paper, include suggestions for future research and identified limitations in the research process.
- Practical Limitations - What outcomes and implications for practice, applications and consequences are identified? What changes to practice should be made as a result of this research/paper?
Keywords
Please supply five to six keywords. Of these, one should describe the topic area and one should describe the methodology used. The remaining keywords should reflect the specificity of the paper. Use the most common term for a concept/theory and do not make up new terms for an old concept.
Main body of the paper: presented as given below.
Headings - Level of headings should be clear. Main headings should be in bold and subheadings in italics. Sentence case (Only the first word capitalised) should be used for all headings.
Spelling - Apart from in References or direct quotes, British spellings should be used throughout and where there is an alternative use s- rather than z- endings (eg. organise rather than organize). Please check your article carefully for grammar, spelling and typographical errors.
Tables and figures
Each should be numbered in the order in which they are referred to in the text and cited as Figure 1, Table 1, etc. Figures and tables must be placed in the manuscript close to where they are referred to. Please put page breaks before and after each table / figure to ensure the best conversion into PDF format for proofing.
Figures, tables, illustrations etc. should be kept to a minimum and all must be “print-ready”. Colour illustrations may be included in the online version of the article, but must also be provided in black and white for the printed version. Please use shading sparingly, and only to aid the reader's understanding. Electronic figures should either be copied and pasted from the origination software or saved and imported into the manuscript. Please ensure that graphics are supplied as files at a resolution of at least 300 dpi and at least 10cm wide. Photographic images should be submitted electronically and should be saved as tif or jpeg files at a resolution of at least 300dpi and at least 10cm wide. All should be supplied with captions and credit lines. It is the author's responsibility to ensure that all necessary permission has been granted to use copyright images and that the correct credit lines are given. If you have any questions at all about supplying graphics or permissions clearance, please contact the editorial office.
Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and should offer significant comment and not just merely cite references. References should be indicated within the main body of the text.

Refereeing
All submitted papers are logged and given a reference number, which will be used in all correspondence throughout the review process. Papers are then passed to the Journal Editors, who will desk review them and decide whether they are suitable submissions to the Journal. At this stage, authors will either receive a desk reject letter from the Editors or their paper will be passed to an Associate Editor expert in the subject area. The Associate Editor will then send the paper to three reviewers whose interests and expertise lie within a relevant field. All papers are double-blind reviewed.
We hope to receive reviews back within 6-8 weeks and once the reviews have been received, the Editors will make a decision. Authors will be sent a copy of the reviewers' comments and as a result of these comments, may be asked to revise and resubmit their paper. Resubmitted papers may then be returned to the original reviewers for further comment.
Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author (unless otherwise specified) for correction. The author should return the proofs within 48 hours of receipt to avoid delay to publication. Extensive alterations which were not in the original manuscript are strongly discouraged.
As corresponding author, you will receive free access to your article on Taylor & Francis Online. You will be given access to the My authored works section of Taylor & Francis Online, which shows you all your published articles. You can easily view, read, and download your published articles from there. In addition, if someone has cited your article, you will be able to see this information. We are committed to promoting and increasing the visibility of your article and have provided this guidance <http://journalauthors.tandf.co.uk/beyondpublication/promotearticle.asp> on how you can help.
