Instructions for Authors
All Submissions Must Adhere to the Following Guidelines:
Submission of manuscripts
The Journal of Agricultural Education & Extension is an English-language publication. Manuscripts should be written in clear, accessible language, which can be understood by those outside the author's area of specialisation. Submission of a manuscript implies a commitment to publish in this Journal. Only manuscripts which have not been previously published, and are not currently under consideration for publication by another Journal are acceptable. Exceptions may be made in cases of manuscripts published in the proceedings of a conference or translated from another language. Manuscripts should be submitted in plain text, preferably as an email attachment. Microsoft Word is the preferred format.
Please edit your text as little as possible: no tabs or indentations, and suchlike. Papers should not exceed 6,000 words (including tables, figures and references). Please specify the amount of words of the manuscript and mention this on the first page of the manuscript. All authors should provide a cover page which lists the following contact details: names of author/s, address of corresponding author, telephone, fax and email address.
Do not capitalise the manuscript title nor names of authors (only where appropriate ie. First letter).
Abstract
An abstract of no more than 250 words describing the aims, methods, findings, conclusions, and added value of the research must accompany the paper. It must include the following headings:

Design/methodology/approach
Findings
Practical implications
Originality/value
Keywords

Tables and Figures
Higher quality artwork is required for all figures (maps, diagrams). Each table or figure should be processed in Word on a separate page and have a title and source. The use of photographs should be avoided; any cost incurred by their use will be charged to the author. Please indicate the position of figures and tables in the text.
Section headings
Papers should be subdivided into sections. There should be an introduction, a conclusion and several other section headings. Use bold text for headings and italics for subsections. Further breakdown should be avoided.
References
Footnotes and endnotes to the text should be avoided. References should be cited in the text as follows: (Onyeiwu, 2003); (Tanner and Tanner, 1995); (Onyeiwu, 2003; Tanner and Tanner, 1995).
All cited sources should be listed at the end of the manuscript according to the following style:

Fieldnotes
The JAEE includes a fieldnotes section, consisting of short articles dealing with issues related to the working practice of education and extension professionals. A fieldnote can also be a commentary or opinion related to a specific article that has been previously published. The fieldnotes are intended to discuss current issues facing agricultural educations and extensionists. The author of a fieldnote is always responsible for the contents of a fieldnote. Manuscripts submitted for the fieldnotes section should be no more than 1,000 words. The conditions for submission as well as the review process are the same as for other manuscripts.
Proofs
Upon receipt of proofs, corrections should be clearly identified and returned within three working days of receipt. Major alterations cannot be accepted.

Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article.
