Aims & Scope

The Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery is the first peer-reviewed group therapy journal that attends to both the addiction and the mental health needs of clients. This journal offers an important forum for the diverse team of treatment providers, clinicians, educators, and researchers that serve addictions groups. The journal presents up-to-date clinical, research, and training articles involving a broad range of addictions and compulsive behaviors.

The Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery provides a unique opportunity for group therapists and addictions treatment professionals—as well as academics, researchers, and other health care practitioners—to learn about the latest developments in this specialized form of addictions treatment. The editorial board includes representatives from diverse theoretical persuasions, facilitating communication among the professional communities working with addictions groups.

Peer Review Policy: All articles in this journal have undergone rigorous anonymous double-blind peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by two to four anonymous referees.
