Intellectual History Review is the journal of the International Society for Intellectual History. The journal is a forum for the Anglo-American and European intellectual history community, promoting the work and aims of the ISIH as well as the study of intellectual history more generally. As well as articles, IHR regularly publishes literature surveys, and essay reviews of current work in intellectual history and related historical areas.
The journal will construe ‘intellectual' in the most inclusive and comprehensive sense, focusing primarily on intellectual history from the sixteenth century to the present. It publishes papers addressing the history of philosophy, religion, science, anthropology, psychology and the social sciences and other relevant intellectual formations.
Peer Review Policy:
All research articles published in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.
