This issue of Theory Into Practice promotes the conception of classroom management as a socially situated, humanistic practice rather than simply the exercise of discipline techniques. The articles draw from the perspectives of students, teachers, and principals, and from the realm of teacher education to examine the relational, motivational, and emotional dimensions of classroom management. Across these described experiences, the articles underscore the importance of a person-centered approach to education.
