This issue of Theory into Practice invites you to explore how the use of documentation transforms teaching and learning across educational contexts. Examples are presented from classrooms in preschool, elementary, high school, and higher education settings, as well as in-service teacher development. In a spirit similar to the Reggio Emilia approach that promotes an attitude of inquiry among teachers and students, the approach to this body of work highlights the use of observation and reflection with an emphasis on interpreting learning.
